Just Cricket

It was great fun watching the cricket match yesterday. The match started with India batting first. Ganguly and Gambhir were batting superbly in the first twenty overs with run-rate going hovering around 7. It was clear that India would score above 300. However, from the, the run-rate started going down.

Gambhir was the first to get out. Ganguly played magnificently. He missed his century by 2 runs getting run-out. Tendulkar, as usual, came and went  Initially, Dravid and Dhoni played slow. The score of 300 seemed unreachable. However, in the last 9 overs, they stepped up the tempo hitting sixes and fours. Ultimately, India ended at 328-3.

It is always difficult to beat a target of above-300. West Indies started brilliantly scoring more than 7 runs per over. It seemed that West Indies is going to win. However, the scene changed after the dismissal of Gayle. The match became slow. However, in the last 10 overs, Chanderpaul exploded like a nuclear bomb. He hit 3 fours off Sreesnath's over. In the last 3 overs, everyone was putting stakes on West Indies. However, no other West Indies could provide company to Chanderpaul. Ultimately, West Indies lost by 14 runs.

The match once proved that Ganguly is still the lion.
