A must-watch 5-star movie

Did you watch Lamhe? In Lamhe, Anil Kapoor falls in love with his beloved's daughter. Or did you watch Black in which a student, Rani Mukherjee, falls in love with her old school teacher?

Cheeni Kum is definitely a better movie because it portrays the love between a not-so-young girl and an old man more realistically.

Amitabh is a 64-year-old man. He is a chef and owns a restaurant in London. Amitabh does not like sugar and uses sugar-free in all the preparations. His wife died early. He has a daughter whom he calls Sexy. His mother, Zora Sehgal, a woman fond of watching TV, also stays with him.

Tabu is a 34-year-old girl. She is yet to find a man that matches her taste. She is slightly depressed there and comes to London. She visits Amitabh's restaurant and likes the food there. She comes again. Amitabh gives his umbrella to her so that she can go outside in the rain. She starts coming again and again to Amitabh's restaurant but Amitabh never takes the umbrella back. They start loving each other irrespective of the big age difference.

One day, in a park, Tabu tells Amitabh to run and reach one tree and come back. Amitabh does that and questions Tabu. Tabu tells Amitabh jokingly that she wants to test her sexual stamina. Amitabh says that she can still have sex with her :)

After that, Amitabh proposes. Tabu agrees. But she says that Amitabh will have to seek permission from his father in India. In between, Sexy gets admitted to a hospital.

Amitabh flies to India and meets his would-be father-in-law, Paresh Rawal. Paresh says that he wants to marry Tabu to a 34 to 36-year-old handsome robust guy. Amitabh tries to woo Paresh with his culinary skills but fails. Ultimately, he tells Paresh that he wants to marry Tabu.

Paresh is shocked. How can he marry his 34-year-old daughter to a person who is 6 years more than his age. He goes on a hunger strike. Amitabh tries to convince him by telling that a marriage demands love and both he and Tabu are in true love. But still Paresh is not convinced.

Amitabh then goes to the iron pillar in Qutab Minar and holds the iron pillar with his hands touching each other on the back. His wish comes true and Paresh allows Tabu to marry Amitabh.

In between Amitabh gets the news that Sexy is dead. Amitabh starts weeping. Tabu calms her and they again become happy.

Amitabh has found a partner and Tabu too :)

Amitabh's acting is superb throughout. Only he can play this type of character so vigorously. The scene in which he tries desperately to make his hands touch each other on the iron pillar is full of emotions. The scene in which Amitabh tries to tell the chemist that he needs condoms and then the chemist saying that Chacha ko condoms chahiye is amazing.
 
Tabu has only worn suits (salwar-kameezs in this movie). However, she is looking gorgeous, extremely sexy, and seducing in her suits. She has shown that a woman need not shed her clothes to look sexy. Her acting and emotions are superb.

The title song which keeps playing throughout the movie has made the movie sweet. All the actors have provided the fun element in the movie.

This movie has two important take-aways:
1. A 64-year-old man need not retire and indulge in religious activities. He too can earn and enjoy.
2. There is no place of age gap in love. If you share a good chemistry, your love is bound to succeed.

It's an all-and-all complete family entertainer. It has got comedy; it has got emotions.
